Time for fans to start buying in to their clubs. Its the only way to ensure players voices are listened to without direct government intervention with a supporters council or similar being implemented. If enough players buy shares and form a coalition ye can have a supporters based voice in local teams.

I really can't listen to these retired footballers, players who earned millions per year in the same system the new league is based off of, money. The premier league has destroyed English football. Look at any team now, where are the English players? and it is not as if the up and coming local lads are getting a chance to move elsewhere. Clubs should be run by pros who know what they are doing and should be owned in large part by the people who are supporting them, i.e. Fans. Sorry, rant over.

As for PSG, it doesn't need the money from the ESL. The owners can pay more to each club, the league and are not in need of some guilt cash. I don't get why Man City would agree to that scam. They are very well loaded and can secure whoever they want, whatever they want roughly speaking.

  52. Federico Alessio

    Federico Alessio15 days ago

I dont like the ESL nor I want it but there are a lot of false information being mentioned here. The ESL was not planning to shut down national championship nor the UEFA‘s organized European competition. Also their business plan said that ~6.5B would be passed down to the national leagues, so that would support the grassroot movement. This is much more than anything UEFA had even imagined. Nevertheless, I hate the idea.

Of course the other thing to consider now, is will players now consider their position before signing up for any of these Super League wannabe clubs, particularly if they're already playing for teams that have rejected this idea already, Bayern, PSG, Porto, Ajax etc. Perhaps the players at the "Big Six", could have an addendum added to their contracts saying that if any of these clubs form a Super League then their playing contracts with the clubs are terminated forthwith.
